Dr. Danielle Janota, Scientist, went to Ohio University for her undergraduate studies before earning her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology in a collaborative program between Kent State University and Northeast Ohio Medical University. She has almost 10 years of research experience in the cardiovascular field. Her scientific specialties are primary cell isolation and culture, pharmacology, and stem cell biology.

Erinn Bogovich

Erinn Bogovich, Lab Scientist / Manager Lab Operations, received a B.S. in Molecular Biology from Kent State University.  Prior to joining EP Technologies in December 2013, Erinn had experience as a QC Microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry and expertise in Nuclear Medicine Technology.  Currently, Erinn is focusing on antimicrobial approaches for application in fresh food decontamination.

Shirley Zhu

Shirley Zhu, Lab Engineer, graduated from the Ohio State University cum laude. She received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in May of 2015. Her background is diversified through prior research experience at NASA Glenn. There, she developed novel techniques for 3-D printing of high-temperature monolithic and fiber-reinforced ceramics for which she has two publications. Shirley offers a unique blend of materials science and chemical engineering knowledge to EP Technologies LLC.

Nicholas Lee

Nicholas Lee, Lab Engineer, graduated from the Ohio State University in 2016 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. During his education, he worked with EP Technologies as an intern during the three summers prior to graduation. He has experience with many plasma applications, such as: food decontamination, plasma enhanced CVD, drug delivery, and microbial inactivation. He joined the company as a full-time employee following his graduation.

Maria Dawaher received a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The College of Wooster in 2014. At Wooster, Maria’s research focused on the presence and bioaccumulation of pharmaceuticals in the terrestrial environment through biosolid application. She used liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry to develop a method to quantify the concentrations of select antidepressants in earthworms and soil. She also looked at the sublethal toxicity and metabolic effects after earthworms are exposed to the antidepressant fluoxetine.
